"But the angel said to her,
'Do not be afraid, Mary,
you have found favor with God."
Luke 1:30
'Do not be afraid, Mary,
you have found favor with God."
Luke 1:30
Mary was favored.
This has laid heavy on my heart as I walked through this week.
She was told she would carry "the Son of the Most High". Ya know, no biggie. She was just going to give birth the One on whom the salvation of all humanity rests.
Mary is so cool.
But at the same time, this favoring came with great scandal and great heartbreak.
She became the gossip of the town; a slut in their eyes. Yet, she was favored. She found herself knocked up before she was married because she was favored. She endured ridicule, yet she was favored. She watched Jesus be murded on a cross; she was favored.
When you are favored, you are placed in situations where you have nothing but Jesus to cling to.
That is what He desires; for us to have none but Jesus.
We are God's children.
We are favored as well.
