tomorrow is the celebration of the birth of my Savior.
tomorrow just like every other year the fam will wake up and sit in front a tree surrounded by an abnormal amount of gifts while my patient dear, dear father talks through the christmas story and explains how christmas isnt really about the gifts and how blessed we are that christ came for us and has blessed in such a way that we are able to get all of these beautifully wrapped item under the tree and he will proceed to pray what feels like the loooooongest prayer known to all mankind. it really takes about 30 minutes, but it never fails to feel like FOREVER before he gives the go for us to pass out the gifts.
tomorrow is the celebration of the birth of my Savior.
and i can barely sit still for 30 minutes to praise and thank him for coming to save me.
christmas is about the One who came to save us. it is about the great I Am.
it sounds cliche i know, but christmas is about Him. not me. not the gifts under the tree. its about Him. i so easily forget that fact, particularly every christmas morning when i see the big package with my name written on it.
christmas is about Jesus, who came bind up your hurts, heal your heart and set you free.
He came so that we could have life and have it to the full.
all praise to be the One who loved us so much that He sent his only Son to save us.
to save me, one so unworthy of His unfailing love.
this advent season, may we focus on the true meaning of christmas.
taking multiple moments to remember why we celebrate His birth.
thanking Him for all that He is.
praising Him for He is, was and is to come.
