i never really knew how valuable, how essential a solid church was in my life.
in the recent years that it has been my very own desire to go, it has always been there, complete with really good worship and a message that brings me back to Truth and humbles my heart before the Gospel.
this summer, it hasn't been there and my heart just misses it.
i've never missed it before, never seen what not going does to my heart, my soul and how it effects my everyday life to not go.
that sounds a bit dramatic.
i think that i look at church as a time to remember the Gospel in a very real way. to encourage me that the way i am living my life is how i am called to live it. to encourage me to keep seeking. when i dont have community to encourage me, i lean on the church to encourage me.
but when there is no community to pour in to you and to keep you accountable and to love you and no community for you to pour and account and love back AND there is no church. wolf.
i just need to worship. i need to sing and praise my King. there is something about worshiping with a body of believers. it is a beautiful thing and i am missing it big time.
it is cool though to see Scripture be proven true.
"They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." acts 2: 42-47
i suppose i thought that awe would always be there. that my glad and sincere heart was the reflection of my love for Christ. and i think in a large part it is, but to be encouraged by other believers to keep seeking and finding my joy to be made complete in Him, that is also a part of it. without it the glad and sincere and the awe slowly fades away.
it is easier to wage war with an army rather than by your loansome. am i roight?
it just feels right to be with a body of believers, worshiping and standing in awe of the Savior and Creator.
it feels so very right.
