Sometimes I don't want to count it all joy, James.
Sometimes I would rather not hear that I should delight in my hardships, Paul.
Sometimes I want to wallow and eat a whole tub of ice cream and cry endlessly.
And so I do.
But only for a short time, because in all honesty the wallowing and the gaining 500lbs and the many tears just don't amount to much compared the Love that continually beckons me.
I have a greater hope. It doesn't make much sense to me, but my Jesus died for me.
He has given me victory.
And that is something to be joyful about.
That is something to take delight in.
